Fordham University Students Benefit Immokalee
Fordham University students partnered with Rural Neighborhoods to help an Immokalee resident with some much-needed yard work. The nine students spent four hours trimming bushes and spreading dirt to level her yard and make it safer for walking. They also helped remove old fence posts and install supports for a new fence to help keep the owner’s pets secure.
Due to physical constraints, the homeowner had been unable to tackle the projects herself. But with nine students helping, she was able to complete the projects that were sorely needed.
The Fordham University students enjoyed the warm Florida January weather while generously donating an entire week to help several Immokalee non-profit organizations. Other groups and their clients who benefited were Immokalee Housing & Family Services, Guadalupe Center, and Salvation Army.
